The Bible presents such incredible wisdom and knowledge that robotic reading of the word robs the reader of its delicate and breathtaking moments.  To read the Bible quickly fails to honor the emotion stirred in one’s heart when pondering upon it.  Such joy is given to the one who hears the voice of God in the pages of scripture and allows it to permeate his soul.
